What VPN software do you use?

AlwaysVPN uses the opensource OpenVPN server and client.
OpenVPN clients are available for all major platforms, including Windows, Mac OSX and Linux

What Operating Systems do you support?

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10, Mac OSX 10.4 - 10.11, Ubuntu Linux

Given the fact that there are hundreds of Linux distributions it is virtually impossible to support all of them. If OpenVPN is available or can be compiled on your Distro of choice it will most likely work with AlwaysVPN. If for whatever reason that is not the case we can always give you a refund.

Where are your servers located?

All of our VPN servers are currently located in the United States. In the future we may also offer non US VPN servers.

How do you process online payments?

We use PayPal to accept online payments. You may use a credit card or a paypal account to make bandwidth purchases.

What is your refund policy?

We will refund your money within 14 days if your bandwidth usage is below 200MB.
Simply send us an email using our contact form and let us know why you'd like the refund. Please include your account username!

Do I get my own public IP address?

No, when you log on to our vpn network you will share an IP address with other users.

Do you block any ports or applications?

We only block port 25. This port is used for sending email between mail servers.

I was disconnected from the VPN and can't log back in. Help?

If your available vpn bandwidth is below 1 Byte you will have to buy more before logging back on.

Why is my Available Bandwidth negative?

Our VPN servers check your Available Bandwidth every half hour or whenever you've used 1GB while you are logged on and if they detect that you have less then 1 Byte available you are disconnected.

For example, you log into the VPN and have 5 MB available. Within the next 30 minutes you download 100MB and are disconnected. You now have gone 95 MB over your originally purchased amount.
The next time you buy more bandwidth the negative amount will automatically be subtracted from the total.

Is this a one time or recurring payment?

The bandwidth prices listed on this website are all one time payments. You are not charged monthly. Think of it as a phone card but instead of buying minutes you are buying bandwidth volume.

When using the VPN do you show advertising?

We do not show advertising on our VPN network. Most of the web references to AlwaysVPN talk about the free ad supported VPN that we once started. This free service is no longer in operation.
